Halloween Scream - hybrid double LO

Hello bloggers!  Today is Digital Scrapbooking Day (I think it's more like a weekend thing so it can be today AND tomorrow too), so in honor of that I have created a double LO, mostly done digitally.  The 12 x 12 LOs I created were based on Halloween pictures taken in 2009.  All digital papers and embellishments were from a kit called Fabulous Fall from the My Memories store.

Here's a screen shot of the double LO in the My Memories Suite v4, side by side.

And here's how they look after printing (I used my Epson wide format printer).  With digital scrapbooking, what you create is basically what you print and you can be as creative as you would doing traditional cut and paste scrapbooking but without the mess on your desk.  Or you can even leave them and come back and add/delete details or pictures until you're ready to print your page or send the pages out to print at your local photo printing places (ie., Costco) or any online printing services (I've never had to use one so I can't recommend any).  Or you can share digitally with whomever you want - totally your preference ;).

I knew I wanted to add a couple of die cuts to the second page, so I imported a JPEG format of the LOs in my Silhouette Studio to help me size the die cuts accordingly.  Below is a screenshot of the JPEG format of the LOs in the Silhouette Studio.

I imported the PNG format of the center element on the second page and sized it to match the size already on the page so I can layer.  Since PNG formats don't have cut lines,  I used the trace feature of the Silhouette Studio to create a cut line. Below is a screenshot of what I'm talking about.  The traced element is next to the page and I will use the print and cut feature of the Silhouette.

Then I added an image of dripping blood by Ginny Nilson (Design ID #12712), and a skull border by Sarah Bailey (Design ID #49260), as can be seen from the screenshot below, sized to fit where I want them.

Here's how the pages look like after printing, with the die cuts before assembly.

And here are closeups of the second page after I have attached the die cuts.

I foam-mounted the cut version on top of the one printed
for some dimension

If you think you would like to try digital scrapbooking someday, there is a code ($40 value) My Memories has provided for me to share with my readers.  If you missed that post, click here for the link and the code, good through today ONLY.

As always, I thank you for stopping by.  Have a creative day!

She fights like a girl (double hybrid LO)

I promised a while back that I was going to show a few of my finished hybrid (part digital, part traditional) LOs after I get more Epson paper to print on, so here are a couple.  As you can see it is a double 12 x 12 LO.  I used the Creative Memories Storybook Creator 4 to create my digital pages, imported the jpeg copies onto the Silhouette Studio to plan my diecuts then added some buttons, pre-made flowers and twine and called it done ;).

Here is how the pages looked like after I imported the jpeg copies onto the Silhouette Studio.  Once again, the page on the left looks darker than the one on the right because it's sitting on the cutting mat view.

the girl karate stick figures are by SnapDragon Snippets
(Design ID #32227), which I ungrouped then positioned
and sized each on the pages as I pleased.

Below is a pic of how the two pages printed before I added the girl karate stick figures.

And some closeups.

BTW I'm happy to report that I am done with 2008 pages - yey!  I've moved on to doing my 2009 pages and hopefully be done with that year by October.  And while I don't want to bore you by showing all of them on here, I will try to post some from time to time.

Thanks for stopping by once again and happy blogging ;).

First Tae Kwon Do Tournament (4 page hybrid LO)

Hi all!  I'm back with another set of hybrid LOs.  Still digging the CM Storybook Creator digital scrapbook software as you can see ;).  If my friend Lori V. sees these pages she'll get a kick out of them because her son and my son both tested for their first degree blackbelts a year ago.  Yes, these are really old pics (2008), but like I've said before, I'm really behind in scrapbooking :(.

As you can see above, I finished  4  12x12 pages of my son's very first Tae Kwon Do Tournament back in 2008.  I wanted to create a big bold title so I left room for them when I arranged the pictures and elements in the digi scrapbook software.  I then used the Chinese Takeaway font for the title and created a shadow in white before cutting them out with my Cameo.

Here's one page after I printed.

Oh, wanted to mention that I'm also learning to use
masks/brushes that you can use as photo templates as
I did on this picture - cool effect, eh?

 And some closeups:

I love digi-stitching ;) - much better than I
could ever do with a sewing machine!

I just love this hinge digi element - it adds a bit of
masculinity to the page

I added a CD pocket (from the Silhouette Store)
to hold the CD containing some videos of the event.

Thanks for visiting me today!

Simple hybrid LOs

Still playing with digital scrapbooking and using my Cameo for die cut accents/titles.  Here's a couple of 12 x 12 LOs I recently completed and printed.  I really should have jotted down where I got the digital papers and elements for them :(.

Some closeups and Silhouette Studio screen shots of how I planned for where my titles would go.

Thanks for taking a peek!

"Any day now" (hybrid double LO)

Hello my blogging friends!  I'm taking a few days off from making cards and will be playing with my digital scrapbooking software.  I am still using the CM Storybook Creator software although I do have the PhotoShop Elements 9 which came with my wide format printer (someday I will sit down and really learn PSE).  As I have mentioned in the past I love digital scrapbooking but I also love the traditional scrapbooking - and I love that I can combine both with the help of my die-cutting machines.

BTW the pictures were from our family friend's first baby shower from 2008 - she now has 3 children and another one on the way so she got a kick out of seeing these LOs (what can I say, I'm still catching up with very old pictures!)

After I designed my pages in the StoryBook Creator, I saved them as jpg images and then imported them onto the Silhouette Studio so I can plan the die cuts I want to use.

Below is a shot of page 2 printed from my wide format printer before I added the die cuts.

And below are some closeups after I cut the images and adhered them to the pages.

I used Cooper Black font for this title, then used the offset
feature to create the shadow in black.
