Bunch of penguins Christmas card set

Hi all!  Just wanted to share with you all my first project as DT member over at the Cameo Creations Challenge blog - I am so honored and excited to be part of this wonderful group of crafters.  The challenge for the next two weeks is "Anything Goes Christmas", so go on over and link up your project.

I made these cards to hand out to our kids' basketball coaches along with their Christmas gifts, which I haven't bought (yikes!).  The penguin is a cut image purchased from the Silhouette Store, and is by Susan Hildebrandt.  The base of the card was created by welding two shadows (via external offset feature) of the penguin image.  The top layers of the penguin were embossed with the D'vine Swirls CB folder and the base (black) of the image embossed with the Swiss Dots CB folder. The hat and the scarf were foam mounted for some depth.  I also added some faux stitching and heat-set gems.

For the inside layers of the card, I used the internal offset feature of the Cameo to coordinate well with the shape of the card.  The inside sentiment is part of a Christmas word set by Samantha Walker, also purchased through Silhouette Store.  I let the Cameo faux stitch the inside of the card by using the print and cut feature on the Studio.

I created the matching envelope by adding a penguin image by Hero Arts (again, purchased through Silhouette Store) - I printed this image using the sketch feature on the Silhouette Studio.  The base of the envelope was a freebie when I purchased my Cameo a year ago.  In case you're wondering, yes, I am using a Cricut mat on my Silhouette Cameo because you can ;).

after printing the sketched image on my computer, I placed the
cardstock on the mat so my Cameo can cut the envelope -
I didn't bother with the registration marks because I knew
my envelope was sized larger than the registration mark boundaries

and the envelope still cut perfectly even without the registration
mark, leaving the sketched penguin on the right bottom of the envelope,
exactly where I wanted it to be!

I love love love the sketch feature of the Silhouette Studio -
prints on your computer without having to buy sketch pens
although I do have them somewhere.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all join us these next two weeks over at the Cameo Creations Challenge blog!

Congrats, Melody! This certainly is exciting news. I'm so happy for you. It definitely is a well deserved honour! Well done. And before I forget... love the penguins. Such adorable cards.

P.S. Sorry I haven't been commenting much. My doggie Rosie is seriously ill and I'm giving her as much attention as I can.
