Takeout Halloween treats

It's time for another Cameo Creations Challenge and this time we are challenging everyone to create projects with "Lots of Candies" (open to your own interpretations, of course!).  For my DT contribution, I went for literal lots of candies - to create Holloween treat giveaways for my kids' friends at school. 

I bought these small takeout boxes already preassembled from Michaels.  The takeout boxes come 6 in a package and came in different patterns but I chose the black and white damask for the ocassion and filled each with 2 small boxes of Nerds and about 10 Starburst candies. 

The tags were by Alaa K (Design ID #32481).  I embossed some top layers with Swiss Dots CB folder and the others with Teresa Collins' Starburst Ebosser embossing folder (loving the Ebosser so far!).  I attached the tags to the boxes with jute twine and attached plastic black and orange spider rings.  Below are some closeups.

Oopsie my bad!

Hello there bloggers!  Today starts a new challenge over at the Cameo Creations Challenge blog and the theme is patterned paper - so go ahead and whip out your favorite pattern (or patterns) anywhere on your project and link up with us.  Since I am not very good at combining patterns for the most part, my project contains 3 different patterns from the Silhouette Store onto 3 different cards.  As always, this project is designed using the Silhouette Studio, images printed on my faithful home printer and cut with the Cameo.

The easel cards stand at 3.540 x 5.345 inches when folded up.  The shape of the card is based on one of the set of 12 tags by PPbN Designs (Design ID #44045).  I used the offset and the weld features on the Silhouette Studio to create all the coordinating layers for the card to create the easel effect.  For the images, I used pre-colored (cuz I seriously stink at coloring ;) ) digis from Scrapper's Delights Store - I used to do Guest Design Team work on Janice's blog and still loooove her images. 

Below is a screen shot of the images in the Silhouette Studio.  The digis were in png format which means they have a clear background and so they're very easy to size them to fit your project.  The sentiments were created using the Cartoon font from my library.

I used the offset feature of the Sil Studio to create  mats for the images, then flood filled each with the patterns purchased from the Silhouette Store (from top to bottom, candy cane grunge, blue diamond snowflake, and black stripe, respectively).  I let the Silhouette Studio faux stitch the mats for me.

I'm bound to forget someone's birthday so at least I'll have a card to attach to a late gift ;).  For the inside sentiments, I used the Cartoon, Horseshoes and Lemonade, and Cajun Boogie fonts.

Baby gift tags

Hello and welcome to another Cameo Creations Challenge.  The theme these next two weeks will be "welcome baby" and we challenge you to create anything to do with babies.  For my DT contribution, I created a couple of tags using the same image colored slightly differently - one for a girl and another for a boy.

The image is a Precious Moments image I got by googling "Precious Moments" images, then converted into a .png image to create a clear background.  I used the tag images by Lori Whitlock (Design ID #46903) for the base of the tags, then created a rectangle piece to put the Precious Moments image in.  I let the Silhouette Studio do the faux stitching for me in coordinating colors for each baby gender.  The sentiment was created using the Happy Sans and the Abbeyline fonts.  I used Promarkers to color the images after printing.  The ribbons were from Michaels, as well as the purple half pearls.

Lots of Love Back to School Notes

Hello bloggers!  I'm back again for the first August challenge over at the Cameo Creations Challenge blog.  The theme of this challenge is back to school, hosted by our very own DT sister Lisa, and the prize is $10 GC towards the Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons store. 

                                        


The two cards are for my two kids. I'm hoping to sneak the cards in their binders when they go back to school in a couple of weeks.  The base of the cards was achieved by using the offset feature on the scalloped circle that was from an image by Alaa' K (Design ID #37639) and welding two together.  I let the Silhouette Studio do the faux stitching for me with pink for my daughter and blue for my son.  I embossed the pink scalloped circle with the flowers design from one of the Once Upon a Princess CB folders, while the blue scalloped circle was embossed with the Oriental Weave CB folder.  the little red heart was embossed with the Swiss Dots CB folder.  I attached some twine around the white heart in the front, choosing to leave off the bow on the blue and white card.  I used some foam mounts here and there for some dimension.  

Here are the inside of the cards.  The sentiment was typed using the Abbeyline font.  The heart image is by Donna Downey (Design ID #32494).  I again let the Silhouette Studio do the faux stitching, this time on the inside of the cards.   

Below are pictures of the cards with their respective envelopes (envelope image by Lori Whitlock Design ID #29070).  I used the Choppin Script font for the sentiment on my daughter's envelope, while the sentiment for my son's envelope was achieved using Graffiti Treat font.  I used the same image by Alaa' K for the front of the cards and used the sketch feature, as you can see on the right corners of the envelopes.

He dribbles, he shoots....he scores!

Hello blogger friends!  Thanks for stopping by today.  My project today is my DT contribution to the new challenge over at the Cameo Creations Challenge blog.  The theme is to use 2 shades of blue in our project - it could be any project and for any ocassion.  Easy peasy, right?  So head on over to the CCC blog and link up your project. 

This project is a birthday card/gift card holder for my nephew's recent birthday.  He just loves basketball ;).  The base of the card box is a file by Samantha Walker (Design ID #42024).  All images are from a digital kit purchased from My Memories called Slam Dunk (I use the other digital elements on this kit for my digital scrapbook pages).  I imported the png images onto my Silhouette Studio (love that I can do this!).  For the layers I needed to pop for dimension, I used the trace feature to create cut lines.  Below is a screen shot of the images I wanted printed on my printer them cut with the Cameo.  I let the Silhouette Studio do the faux stitching for me for the sentiment and image that will go in the front of the box card.

And below are closeups of the finished box card. I inserted a gift card for him before I gave him the card.

Man of Steel easel card

Hi everyone! Today starts a new challenge over at the Cameo Creations Challenge blog.   The theme for the next two weeks is 4th of July.  So get your patriotic hats on and make something for the upcoming holiday and link it up!  I can't wait to see what you come up with. 

For my DT contribution, I created an easel card.  The patriotic plaque is by Megan Hardy Designs (Design ID #28525) and Superman is actually a print and cut by DC Comics (Design ID #32643).   I used the fonts Abbeyline (for the God Bless) and Choppin Script (for the America).  As you can see I used some Card Candies as a place holder for the easel effect.  Below are some closeups.

Monica's Surprise Baby Shower Blog Hop

Welcome to Monica's Surprise Baby Shower Blog Hop!   Our friend Monica from Monica's Creative Madness will soon be welcoming a new little boy to her family, so some of us got together to throw her this surprise hop. We're all making scrapbook layouts that she can use to keep up with all of the memories of the first year with her little sweetie.

Here are the 8x8 pages I did for Monica.  I normally do 12 x 12 LOs so it was a little challenging to miniaturize some of the elements I normally would pile onto a page.  I did two 2-page LOs, one for tummy time and another for when her baby starts walking.  I designed my pages in the Silhouette Studio and all cuts were done using my Cameo.

I used the Cooper Black font for the title, arranged each letter the

way I wanted them to look, then used the offset feature to create the

shadow.  Then I embossed the top layers of the title with the Swiss

Dots CB folder and attached them to the shadow layer using foam

mounts for some depth.  The baby charms were by SnapDragon Snippets

(Design ID #12211) strung on some twine. 

 

The white rectangles come off and serve as place holders for

Monica's photos. I used white painter's tape to hold them in place

until she's ready to put her own pictures in. The baby image is by

SnapDragon Snippets (Design ID #17188) - it's actually a baby

crawling but I did a bit of "surgery" on the image and made the

baby to look like he's on his tummy instead ;)

The jean pocket is a print and cut by Sarah Bailey

(Design ID #10513).  I cut a bottom layer and created

little notes for Monica to journal with by using the internal offset

feature (I let the Sil Studio do the faux stitching).  The font I used 

for the journal and the sentiment on the jean pocket is Curlz MT. 

The So Cute circle tag is by Loni Stevens Design (ID #38942).

Details and closeups of LO #2 (First steps theme - "Oh the places you'll go"):

Once again, the white rectangles are place holders for Monica's

pictures and come off easily because they are held in place by

painter's tape.

 

The title on this double LO was created by using the same font as the

first set of LOs - the Cooper Black font. I again used the offset feature to

create the shadow for the title after I place the letters the way I wanted them

to look.  Then used the Swiss Dots CB folder again for the top layers and

used foam mounts to attach each letter to the shadow.

Cameo Creations Challenge - Full Bloom

It's another Cameo Creations Challenge and here's my DT contribution.  The theme these next two weeks is Full Bloom and we were asked to include flowers in our creations.  These are box cards designed by Samantha Walker (Design ID #42027) and the image was purchased through the Silhouette Store.  The flower image is by Lori Whitlock (Design ID #40827), also from the Silhouette Store.  The double-sided CS I used were from a paper pack by K&Company.  The ribbons were from my stash (most definitely purchased from Michaels).  The brads for the center of the flowers were also from my stash but I can't seem to remember the brand since I've had them for a long time.

Here are some closeups of my project.  These cards were created for the teachers at my kids' school, intended to house some giftcards for them.  These were so easy to make!

I used the Abbeyline font to type the sentiment for the inside layer of the box card and used the print and cut feature of the Cameo.

Lattice fence note/picture holder

 

Hi all!  It's time for another challenge over at the Cameo Creations Challenge blog and this time the theme is Spring and you must use glitter anywhere in your project.  For my DT contribution I prettied up a wooden framed lattice fence I recently bought at a local store for $1.50.  It was roughly 15.5 inches tall x 11.5 inches wide, and about  0.75 inch thick.  All cutouts were designed using the Silhouette Studio and all pieces were cut with the Cameo.   

This is how it first looked like.

I covered the perimeter with my home-dyed crinkle ribbon.

Here are the cut out pieces before assembly.

Now on to some details: 

1.  rolled rose (Design ID #25432) by Silhouette
2.  corner leaf vine flourish (Design ID #7319) by Samantha Walker
3.  fairies (pixie corner digi set) by Scrapper's Delights store

Importing any digi stamp (in .jpg or .png formats) onto the Silhouette Studio takes some practice but you will definitely love it once you get the hang of it.  I imported Janice's (Scrapper's Delights designer) pixies onto the Silhouette Studio, sized them as I pleased and then used the trace and offset features of the Silhouette Studio to create the cut lines around the pixies.

After printing, here are the pixies before I sent it to the Cameo to cut.

After cutting the pixies I used ProMarkers to color them in and used stickles for some glitter glam on the wings.

I also attached some mini clothespins onto the fence with the help of a glue gun, to hold notes/pictures.  Actually I used my glue gun to attach all the pieces onto the wooden lattice framed fence, except for the pixies - those I attached with the use of some foam mounts for some depth.
