Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope everyone's having a nice Valentine's Day so far.   Two weeks ago I shared a goody bag I was making for my 6 y.o DD's classmates (if you missed that post, click here) that my 9 y.o. DS thought was too girlish, so I made one very simple for him to give out to his classmates on Valentine's Day. 

This box cut was purchased from the Silhouette store and is cut with the Cameo.  In keeping with my DS's request for a non-girlish Valentine treat, I cut the box in kraft paper.  This box was so easy to assemble as the perforations made it easy to do so.  I actually did not use any adhesives to assemble this box - everything folded and tucked in very neatly together.  I added twine to hold the tag and stamped "XOXO" to the hearts.

The tag was from the Picturesque cart.  The swirls and the hearts were actually leftover cuts from the goody bags I made for my DD's classmates, as seen on the cutting mat below (I hate throwing away  good cuts).

Valentine Treat Bag

Hello my blogging friends!  Today I'm sharing with you all a Valentine treat bag I cut and decorated for my 6 year old DD to give out to her classmates.  (I'll have to see what I can make for my 9 year old DS that is not "too girlish" if I have the time).  I am also linking this project to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog (label it theme) and the Die Cuttin' Divas blog (buttons, bling, and/or bows challenge).  This treat bag is so easy to make.  I know I probably should have used a patterned paper for the bag itself to pretty it up a bit, but honestly I don't think the kids really appreciate the presentation as much as the goodies inside (I cringe at the vision of first grade kids tearing the treat bags to get the candies out and tossing the bags aside - ahhh the paper massacre is not a pretty sight!  Luckily there are only 11 kids in my DD's class so not a lot of paper will be wasted overall.  Sorry for digressing!)

The bag was cut from an old MS solid cardstock pack and is a free image from the Silhouette Studio, cut with the Cameo. Once assembled, it stands at a little under 6.5 inches tall,  3.5 inches wide, and 1.5 inches deep (and of course you can make this bag any size you want).  Can I just say here that I LOVE the score cuts on this bag?  I didn't have to use a bone folder for the creases or felt the need to hide ugly score cuts! 

The bee image was cut with the Cricut using the Sentimentals cart.  The tag image was also cut with the Cricut using the Picturesque cart, inked and stamped with a Recollections stamp in red.  I used Maraschino twine from the Twinery to help hold the tag in place.  I also added 3 buttons to embellish a bit.  There are plenty of room in this treat bag for everything you see above.  All supplies used to create the bag (except the candies, of course) were from my stash.

CC Blogiversary Challenge #3 - Bee U

Happy Friday, bloggers!  Today I finished another card for the CC Blogiversary Challenge #3 - highliting the Cuttlebug.  This card is size A2 and is titled Bee U. 

The base of the card is again another clear craft plastic, cut to size of an A2 card.  I embossed the front with the Flourished Frame CB folder.  You can see the embossed image better below:

Then I adhered a double-sided cardstock inside of my base by attaching both with a piece of purple crinkled ribbon.  If you missed how I did this technique previously you can click here.    I then added a quilled flower I created using my Cuttlebug.  Before I assembled the flower though I ran the purple pieces through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder.  I also added a half pearl in the middle of the quilled flower.  You can see  the details below:

The last thing I did was to add the Cricut cuts in the front.  The bee cut is an image from Create a Critter cart and the "U" is from the Gypsy Font cart.  I used a Peachy Keen stamp for the face of the bee.  The corner pieces were from the Picturesque cart. 

Below is a shot of the inside of the card.  Before I adhered the cream colored cardstock to hide the ribbon from the front of the card, I embossed it with one of the Iron Works CB border folders. 

And yes, all the supplies I used to create this card were again from my stash!  Project #7 for Using My Stash pledge over at the CC MB.

Post Mothers' Day

Phew!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers' Day.  Here's the card I made for my Mom .  The card was 5.5 x 5.5.  I've been dying to use cuts from the Paper Lace cart and I'm so glad I finally had the chance!  I used some irock gems to embellish the cut.  "MOM" was cut using the Lyrical Letters cart.  I also used some twine and strung some glass beads at the ends before I attached to the card. 

The envelope was cut using Sweethearts cart.  The mom and child silhouette cut was from A Child's Year cart and the 3 flowers were from Mother's Day Bouquet cart.  I've embellished the flowers with half pearls from Michaels.

Here's the inside of the card.

"You're the best!" was cut using Lyrical Letters cart. 

I wanted to show you guys the tags I made for the little bags of Lindor Truffles I handed out to some of my sister in laws and my sisters on Mothers' Day.  I used the tags from the Picturesque cart - so easy!  Love this cart! 

I realize I could really have blinged out the tags if I had more time but I had to produce about 10 of these tags in under 1 hour,  attached to the truffles and ready to go!  I think I'll go make some more just so I can have them on hand cuz these tags are so versatile!
