Easter 2011 Goody Treat Box

Hello there!  Phew!  Haven't posted in a while due to some family emergency, but I'm glad I did find some time this week to make some goody treat boxes for my kids to hand out to their classmates and friends before Easter break.  There was no rhyme or reason for the color scheme I chose, just using up my supplies ;).  I had to make roughly 40 of these boxes!

Here are a couple more closeup pics:

Details of the goody boxes:
* box - from Spring Holiday Cards cart
* "Blessed Easter"  - welded letters from Base Camp cart (wow, haven't used this font in a long time!)
* cross - from Easter 2010 cart, welded with the "Blessed Easter" then cut another by itself, embossed that with D'vine Swirls CB folder and pop dotted on top of the other
* prima flowers
* buttons from my stash
* cardstock from various Marth Stewart and K & Company stacks.

Thanks for looking and Happy Easter!

Bubbly Moments

Hello there!  This is my entry for the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge - Just Because.  I am STILL trying to catch up on scrapbooking.  The pictures in this 2 page LO were actually taken in March 2008....yep I'm only exactly 3 years behind!  I was able to make a collage of 5 pictures in each circle "bubble".

Some Close-ups:

Details of the LO:
* 2 big circles (served as base for the picture collage) - George and Basics cart
* bubbles (in varying sizes, foam-mounted around each of the picture collage) - Disney - Princesses Dreams Come True cart, and A Child's Year cart
* bubble "wand" - Paper Dolls for Everyday cart
* water droplets - Paper Dollls for Everyday cart
* water splatters - Paper Dolls for Everyday cart
* "Bubbly Moments" title, welded - Gypsy Font cart
*  journaling - computer generated cause I detest my penmanship  ;)

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful week!

for a tweet girl

Well hello there!  Wow long time no post....  Don't you hate it when life interferes with crafting LOL!  To make a long story short, had to move my craft "room" to the dining room this past week in anticipation to having one or both of my inlaws stay with us while they recuperate from surgeries (yes, almost at the same time!).  They are both doing better at a rehab facility and with God's blessings will continue to do so.

This card is my entry to 2 challenges this week, Patti Lynn Creations (challenge:  Think Spring!) and the Fantabulous Cricut (challenge:  hip to be square - green and gold).  I made this card as a belated birthday wish for a dear young girl who turned 15 a few days ago (which reminds me, I still need to make an envelope for this card - yikes!).

Some close-ups:

Details of the card:
* 5 x 5
* green cardstock behind a floral design of a vellum paper
*"for a girl" - sentiment from A Child's Year cart
*"tweet" with bird - April Showers cart
*3d flower from CB quilling kit, embossed with Swiss Dots folder
*irock gem on bird cut's eye
*multicolored ribbon from Target
*green brads
*strip of green cardstock punched with MS puncher on the inside of card

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!  Happy St. Patty's Day!

Blog Award - Yey!!!!

First of all, I'd like to thank Gloria over at Girlia's Card for passing on this award to me - so sweet!  And I'd also like to apologize to her for being so late in passing it on to other bloggers as she awarded this to me in early February - yikes!  Where did February go??? Anyway, better late than never, right?  Head on over to her blog as she is one wonderful crafter; I promise you that if you don't already follow her blog, you will be amazed at her work.

This is the second time I'm graciously receiving this award and so I'm familiar with it's FUN stipulations:

Thank the person/people who gave you the award and link it back to their blog
Share 8 things about yourself and pass it on to eight people.
Inform the individuals about their award.  Easy peasy, right?  OK, here we go!

1.  Before the Cricut I was mainly a scrapbooker.  Now I dabble in cardmaking too and love the instant gratification it affords me.  Never mind that I am now 3 years behind in my scrapbooking ;)!
2.  I have a wonderful husband who continues to support my paper hobby in his own way - he mutters under his breath about how messy my craft area is and then hands me a $100 gift card to Michaels once in a while - LOL!
3.  I love the Harry Potter series - books and movies!
4.  I have over 3,000 pictures stored in Snapfish, ready to be printed when I get the chance - see #1 for the reason - hehe!
5.  My Imagine has become a 30 pounds paper weight - I still find myself grabbing for my Expressions when I make a project.
6.  I'm on the fence about renewing my Cricut Circle membership as I don't see myself forking out hundreds of dollars to attend swarms - takes money away from my cart addiction!
7.  I have a hard time letting go of pretty paper, even if it's to be used to make cards for special people in my life.
8.  If no one's home but me, I belt out singing.....anything really, just ask my neighbors!

Now onto passing this award to 8 special bloggers I didn't get the chance to pass it on the first time I received one back in November 2010 - some I have followed for a while now, others I'm just getting to "know".  I chose the following bloggers who continue to inspire and amaze me - please visit their blogs and congratulate them too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fairytale Dreams

Hello once again.  This is my entry to the CC Blog Weekly Challenge # 22:  Once Upon  a Time AND my entry for a new challenge site I just found out, Linda's Creativity (thanks Linda for steering me over to your site!).  The CC Blog challenge was to include a fairytale or folklore figure in our project, and must include at least 2 cricut image cuts. The instruction for Linda's Creativity challenge was simple:  include any embossing in our project - super easy!  I decided to do a 12 x 12 LO for these challenges and I'm happy because I also got to use my almost forgotten Peachy Keen Stamps - yey!

Some close-ups:

Depicts my cheeky son so well!

And of course my daughter, the drama queen ;)!

Details of the LO:
*frame - Lacy Labels cart
*4 clouds - Simply Charmed, Everyday Paper Dolls, April Showers, and Create a Critter carts, embossed with D'Vine Swirls CB folder and foam mounted
*"sweet dreams" title - Create a Critter cart, also embossed with Plum Blossoms CB folder
*princess cut with accessories - Paper Doll Dress Up cart, Peachy Keen Stamps for face, irock gems for her crown
*prince cut with accesories - Paper Doll Dress Up cart, Peachy Keen Stamps for face
*dragon - Paper Doll Dress Up cart
*grass - Sports Mania cart

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Entry

Happy Friday!  I thought I'd play along in YET another challenge ;)!  This one is for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge.  This is the first time I'm playing along in this site - check it out!  The challenge was to use some sort of embossing in our project, and of course, cricut cuts!  I chose to do an A2 card for this one.

A more close-up of the embossing using the Swiss Dots CB folder.

I kept the inside blank so I can write my own sentiment to whomever I want to give this to at a later date.  I did add a strip of leftover cardstock punched with an MS puncher.

Details of my project:
*A2 size
*rose cut with its layers - Lori's Garden Imagine Art cart
*"Smile" cut - Gypsy Wanderings cart, embossed with Swiss Dots CB folder and embellished with light blue button (from my stash)
*2 different MS punch around the page punchers
*red polka dotted sheer ribbon from Walmart

***A little sidenote:
Now, don't laugh.  I follow a LOT of craft blogs but don't always get emails from all bloggers when they make new posts - don't know why!  BUT I just really paid attention to my blogger DASHBOARD today and found out I can keep up with the ones I follow this way ROTFL!  I'm still learning about this whole blogging thing and loving it.

Thanks for stopping by!
