So call me maybe

I created this card for one of my nieces who is now a full-blown teenager :(.  Time flies.  Eventhough she lives just 5 houses down from us I hardly see her anymore because she has a very busy highschool life.  I am linking this to Mojo Monday sketch challenge #256 and also to The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #2 (my second link to their numbers challenge!). 

This card is a little under 6 x 6 and is again inspired by one of my doily collection purchased through the Silhouette Store, and is by Jamie Koay.  The base of the card is again created by 2 shadows of the doily welded together.  The oval and the circle cuts were shapes created and sized from the Silhouette Studio so I can layer on top of the doily cut.  I used a digi image by Polly Craft called Call me Chester and sized it to fit inside an oval cut then colored with Prismacolor pencils.  The sentiments in the front next to the image and inside the card are done using the Times New Roman font.

To a sweet little girl

I'm playing along with The Cameo Spotlight!  The theme these next two weeks is numbers. 

A family friend's daughter is turning one in a couple of weeks so I created this card for her.  This card is 5.5 x 5.5 inches.  The card was inspired by one of the doily collections I've had for a while, purchased from the Silhouette Store, and is by Lori Whitlock.  The base of the card was created by welding two shadows of the doily via the offset feature on the Silhouette Studio.  The image is a digi stamp by Poly Craft I purchased a while back, sized to fit a square to layer on top of the doily, then colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I believe I used the Abbeyline font (I love this font and use it a lot!) to type the sentiment in the front and on the inside of the card.  The ticket is a print and cut image from the Silhouette Store and is by Alaa K.  I embellished with light peach half pearls.  The mini flowers I have had for years so I can't even tell you guys where I got it from.

It's your birthday?

Hi there!  Wow it really has been too long since I posted!  My summer was just so busy with the kids and extended family affairs that needed to be taken cared of; hence the long break from crafting and blogging in general.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the sweet emails from those who missed me - truly appreciate all the concern and the encouragement  ;). 

Well on to my project today, shall we?  This card is one of the many doily cards I'm currently working on.  I have had quite a collection of doilies from the Silhouette Store.  Last count according to my Silhouette library is 51 doilies!  Aside from butterfly cuts, I have a weakness when it comes to doily cuts. (We won't even talk about the doily cuts on my MANY Cricut cartridges LOL!)

I started by sizing my doily to be about  5.85", then using the offset feature on the Silhouette Studio (I have the designer's edition, but you can easily do this using the basic SS program), to make 2 shadows.  I then welded the two shadows to make the base of the card, so all in all the card turned out to be roughly 6 x 6.    The image on this card is a digi I purchased from Scrapper's Delights Store and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I used the Abbeyline font to type the sentiment "It's your birthday?"  I put both the digi image and the sentiment together inside a circle and printed them on my computer and used the print and cut feauture to cut them in my Cameo.  I did some faux stitching on the blue circle mat around the digi and the sentiment with a white Sakura gel pen, then added some light crystal gem stickers on the doily.  The envelope and the paper bow were cut using files purchased from the Silhouette Store.

Below is the inside of the card.  I used the Abbeyline font again for the sentiment inside the card, putting the sentiment on top of a digital note image, also from Scrapper's Delights (Fairytopia digi scrapbook kit).  On the inside left of the card, I used a pocket cut image from the Silhouette Store so I can insert a gift card.  BTW this card is for one of my kids' friends in their new taekwondo dojang who is going to turn 11 this Saturday.
